Antimatter

Patterns found in nature repeat themselves at different scales. Everything in the universe is created by forces that, although of different magnitudes, can be found on Earth, in a single particle. “Antimatter” visually explores this interconnection.

The same fundamental structures manifest themselves in both the microscopic and macroscopic. Waves in matter behave like gravitational waves in the universe. Patterns in rocks mirror dark matter maps. Branching structures repeat themselves from leaf veins to galactic networks.

Black and white reveals these similarities. By eliminating color, pure structures and fundamental patterns emerge. Like antimatter is the mirror reflection of ordinary matter, these images are reflections of normally invisible forces and structures.

Studying visible phenomena on Earth leads to a better understanding of the invisible universe. Each photograph in this project can be viewed as both a microscopic detail and a cosmic view. This scale ambiguity suggests that the fundamental laws of the universe manifest themselves in similar ways at all scales.

“Antimatter,” as the title suggests, recalls the concept that, just as antimatter is necessary to understand the complete structure of the universe, these images reveal the invisible but fundamental structure of reality. Each photographed pattern is a window into this network of interconnections, a gateway to the invisible.

The waves, vortices, and branching structures are manifestations of the same fundamental forces that shape the universe. Universal patterns show how forces observable in everyday life are small replicas of cosmic forces. It is visual evidence of the interconnected nature of reality, where every detail contains echoes of larger structures, and every larger structure is reflected in its smaller components.
